"QUEEN OF THE HEAT" CONTEST RULES Cost = $5 per participant 100% donated to Komen Divisions Participant’s age group is determined by chart below. Judge reserves the right to validate participant’s age. All contestants must be on a participating Pitch for the Cure team. 10U – Participant is 10 years old or under on December 31, 2007 12U – Participant is 12 years old or under on December 31, 2007 14U – Participant is 14 years old or under on December 31, 2007 16U – Participant is 16 years old or under on December 31, 2007 18U – Participant is 18 years old or under on December 31, 2007 It is recommended that participant receive permission from her coach/parent prior to entry. Qualifying Round Participants will qualify at the Speed Booth at JB Hunt Park. Participant must designate that they are entering the Top Gun contest and pay the contest entry fee before throwing any pitches. Participant will throw three pitches from the official mound, with the top speed recorded according to age division. The top three qualifiers from each age group will advance to the final round. Participants may enter as many times as they wish, but will have to pay a new entry fee for each. Cut-off time for qualifying is 3:00 p.m. Saturday. Final Round Final round will take place on a designated field. The time for the final round will be communicated at Team Check-in. Participant must provide their own catcher, who must wear required safety equipment. Pitching order will be determined by blind draw. Participants will throw five pitches from a mound according to their age division (35 feet for 10U, 40 feet for all others), with top speed recorded according to the age division. Top single pitch speed for each age division will be declared the "QUEEN OF THE HEAT" for that age division, and will receive an award. Pitch for the Cure officials reserve the right to modify rules when necessary. Decisions of the judges are final. |
