Greetings~
I'd like to introduce myself in case we
haven't spoken in the past in regards to a partnership between
Pitch for the Cure and your establishment. I am Gina
Bartholomew and I volunteer with the Northwest Arkansas Fastpitch
Softball Association dba as Springdale Chicks. We are the 501(c)3
organization that hosts Pitch for the Cure in NWA each year. I've been
fortunate enough to Chair this very special tournament for 6 of the last
7
years, with this year being our 7th annual event! My message offers
several ways that your business or group might help our NWA charity event and
allows you to economically reach out to over 10,000 customers.
Pitch for the Cure is a girls' fastpitch
softball tournament that raises funds for Chicks Charities but also
has additional global ambitions attached to it. It connects regional
youth to fight against breast cancer and empowers girls to be active for
change in their communities. There are
250 teams coming to NWA on the
weekend of June 8-10 for this tournament. The largest majority of them
are from areas other than NWA.
These 250 teams translate into 3,000 girls,
600 coaches PLUS families and fans in tow, all here for the weekend!
While these people do eat elsewhere in NWA when they are away from the
park (good for you!), it still
means long lines at the concession stands when our volunteers are at the
park. When our volunteers do get a
10 minute break here and there, we'd like for them to be able to go
straight to resting.
That’s why I'd like to invite you to assist us with a growing need for our event. At each of our 5
ballparks, we provide an area where our volunteers can stop by and grab
a cold drink and a snack, even hopefully a meal. We are blessed
that our event is loved by so many teams. This means the turnout
is so large,
more often than not, our volunteers spend long hours at their position
or task on very hot days. Most do not get the opportunity
to leave their ballpark until the day is over. They are all happy to do
it and most are repeat volunteers that come back year after year for
it….but we need to take action to take care of them! We are so grateful
that people are willing to give their time to us. An event this unique
and large couldn't be done without them!
We have shade and chairs waiting for the
volunteers in the hospitality tents. Drinks are iced down and snacks
are ready on tables for them. Sometimes, when kindly provided to us and
timed just right, there are even some quick meals. All of these items
are based on donations from national and local businesses such as
yours.
Your help would be so appreciated in this
area. If you could provide us with assistance at one or more of our
hospitality tents, we would be so grateful. Some ways that we can
share your good deeds:
-
We would list you on our website as a
hospitality supporter. This information stays up all year long
until it is time to change it for next year's event.
-
We'll include you in our event program
book as a Hospitality Supporter. (Print date deadlines apply.)
-
If you wish to provide a coupon or printed
material to be added to our either our volunteers or our
participants, we can discuss those options. (Applies to
restaurants & other food providers.)
-
You'd be promoted in social media posts
throughout our Pitch for the Cure "season".
@pitchforthecure
Our event runs on Friday 5pm-10pm, Saturday
8am-11pm, and Sunday 8am through 7ish. Games take place at two parks in
Springdale, two parks in Fayetteville and one park in Bentonville. (Our
teams are staying in hotels from Fayetteville to Bentonville.)
You are welcome to donate items that are
identical to your menu/product items or something that is off menu. You'll find
us grateful to accept anything that you provide as suitable eating for
the situation. Items in the past have ranged greatly from
waters/sodas/teas/juices to pizzas/chicken/sandwiches and all kinds of
snacks and treats! We won't have methods of keeping hot food hot, unless
you are able to provide one, but batches of hot food are sure to be
consumed quickly anyway. Cold food will also...but we can use coolers
if needed.
Many thanks for considering partnership with
PFTC! I welcome your questions and suggestions.
