Pitch 2011 is
hitting it out of the park...
Pitch 2011 is hitting it out of the park
with good news for our players, parents & coaches! Joining us at
our 6th annual fastpitch tournament will be 3-time Olympian, Crystl
Bustos, her personal hitting instructor, Howard Carrier and former
University of Missouri Tiger and professional fastpitch player,
Micaela Minner. We'll be hosting several clinics during our weekend
event along with allowing time for pictures & autographs.
A coach/parent clinic will be held late
Friday afternoon in order to accommodate as many as
possible. Saturday player mini-clinics will cover
hitting/fielding and will be for 2011 PFTC players only (at special
pricing). These will be divided by team age groups in order to
"shift-schedule" the games accordingly. Sunday sessions are also
hitting/fielding mini-clinics but are open to any players. All are
single session clinics.
There are limited spaces available for the
player clinics and we want to honor the benefit to 2011 PFTC players
foremost. For us to do this, players' teams must have their PFTC
team registration completed & paid. We realize that PFTC teams
always pay in advance, this simply means that they must also be paid
prior to any player registering for the clinics. Teams will also be
required to first be USSSA registered for the 2011 season and have
an online USSSA roster submitted.
Team registration for Pitch for the
Cure has just begun. We are going to give a little bit of
lead time for teams to process their registrations first. The
opening of the individual clinic registrations will be held until
February. (Coach/Parent clinic registration will be open
immediately with team registration.)
We hope you enjoy the addition this
year's event and we thank Crystl, Howard and Micaela for joining us!
PLUS...you
earn more points this year!!
Not only did Pitch for the
Cure return to being a USSSA NIT event, but check this out....
-
USSSA has revamped their
point chart. See below for the
old chart and the
new chart. Qualifiers &
State Level II stay the same, but look at that
NIT
column!! It's BUMPED up a notch or two, right?!
-
There is also a new level
of points awarded at 25-32nd places for NIT's. For an event
the size of PFTC, that's a benefit for a good number of teams.
-
Now for the best part:
You can take those points and
DOUBLE THEM!! Pitch 2011 is a DOUBLE POINTS event, so all
of those points in the NIT column will automatically be doubled!!
Yes, first place is worth 450 points!!!
What you
may not have noticed about playing in an NIT...
They not only award higher points at the top of the scale, but they also
award points deeper into the scale. Qualifiers stop at 10 points
for 12th place. NIT's stop at 20 points for 32nd place.
(Before double points, of course.)
